Come join BASF in building nesting structures for song birds and wood ducks. The purpose of this project is to improve the available habitat for nesting. The song bird houses you will be building will provide needed space for bluebirds that have been attempting to nest in the established purple martin colony housing. We are also trying to provide nesting opportunities for the wood ducks to encourage wildlife diversity in the area. Wood ducks prefer to nest in natural tree cavities near water features; however these nest sites are scarce. Building nest boxes for wood ducks is a great way to fill this needed habitat niche. Construction will be completed at Camp Skimino and Bird houses will be posted in at the BASF landscape in Williamsburg.
